festival in july " Gion Matsuri "

Gion Matsuri is one of the festivals that produce the existing cost of japan held in Kyoto. This festival lasts 1 month in summer and also has become a tradition that has been held more than 1000 years !! .

Gion Matsuri is the first to drive out the plague of the era. this festival was never held because of the war and also the training of the rulers at the time. and then back and finally Gion Matsuri is held back as a festival and is still going on at this time.

Gion Matsuri held 1 month starting from July 1 to 31. The festival takes place simultaneously at the junction of karasuma road and kawaramachi street. The highlight of the festival's festivities lasts 4 days on 14th to 16th July called Yoiyama ie Warming before the big parade and on the 17th where the Yamabako parade train is brought to the City.
