How to Write the Kanji for Units of Money (Hundred, Thousand and Ten thousand): Step-by-step

Hello Steemians!

I'm sorry it took me so long to continue the kanji tutorials. 'been busy with school works and deadlines to beat. So here is the continuation of the kanji tutorial for numbers and this is actually the last segment for number kanji.

This time the kanji is for the units of money, or counting suffices, the hundreds, thousands and ten thousands.

Kanji for Hundreds

First is a straight line across the paper from left to right. This is the first stroke.

Followed by a short slanted line (tategaki style) from top right at the center of the first stroke to the bottom left.

The next stroke is a vertical line at the left side below the first two strokes.

Then a straight line across the figure is drawn starting at the top of the previous stroke and then shifts 90 degrees downward.

A line is drawn inside the figure. This is the fifth stroke.

Lastly, a line is drawn on the bottom of the figure to close the kanji.

Meaning: Hundred
Onyomi: Hyaku

This kanji is the one of the two unit that has no Kunyomi reading and the only kanji for counting that has six strokes.

TRIVIA: For quick learning, the kanji for hundred has similar fundamental shape with a vertical 100 below.

Kanji for Thousand

First, start with a short slant line starting from top right to bottom left.

Followed by a horizontal line below the first stroke.

Lastly, a vertical line starting from a little below the first stroke downwards.

Meaning: Thousand
Onyomi: Sen
Kunyomi: Chi

TRIVIA: Thousand starts with T. Hence, the figure below.

Kanji for Ten thousand

To start off, a horizontal line is drawn from left to right.

Then, below the first stroke a horizontal line is also drawn starting from the middle of the first stroke to the right and shifting the brush at an angle making the line downwards curve.
