Aceh International Rapa'i Festival 2018

The old Aceh musical instrument known as "Rapa'i" has a long history as a provincial brand inhabited by a majority of Acehnese people. Rapa'i is a traditional Acehnese percussion instrument and is widely used for dance performances, religious ceremonies such as weddings, circumcisions, anniversaries and traditional events.

Aceh International Rapa’i Festival is an international standard Percussion Music Event. This event is one of the steps and commitments of the Aceh Government in preserving sustainable Tradition Arts as Aceh Culture Teak. Generally Acehnese Tradition art is percussive and for this reason Percussion Music Art becomes the item of choice in the activities of the Aceh International Rapa'i Festival as well as an event to introduce a variety of Aceh Percussion Art treasures to the eyes of the International world.
