My Dearest Sheriff,

You probably do not remember it, but I wrote you a letter before you were elected. I don't remember what it said, nor can I find it now. I do remember however that I had a copy of Sheriff Richard Mack's book, "The County Sheriff, America's Last Hope", sent to your office. I also remember stressing to you how important the sheriff's duties are....
