Getting Started With The Keto Diet in 3 Incredibly Simple Steps

in #ketogenicdiet5 years ago (edited)

If you are a beginner to the ketogenic diet and lifestyle there is no better time to start than right now. Throw the old saying "diet starts Monday" out the window because anyone can start with these simple steps.

There is nothing extra to buy to start. No magic tools, pills, powders, or supplements. You can start right away with a little motivation and a few foods in your kitchen. The ketogenic diet is the most anti-inflammatory way to eat period. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cancer, heart disease, or a brain disorder you have no choice but to get started right now. These diseases and disorders have completely allowed inflammation to take over your body. The great thing is food can be your medicine and what you eat can help heal your body.

Our bodies are made for the ketogenic diet our physiology knows how to do this.

Here are the three simple beginner steps today to start the ketogenic lifestyle:

  1. Go into your kitchen and find anything and everything that has sugar in it. I'm talking everything even the honey, molasses, agave nectar, syrups, and especially table sugar. These are nothing but trouble and will not help you on your new path to fight disease and live a healthy lifestyle. Gather all these up and throw them away or donate them to the homeless.

  2. After we've gotten rid of all sugars we want to tackle all your grain products. These are hidden sugars. This category includes wheat, bread, pastas, rice, cereals, oats, and even corn and corn products. All of these products spike your blood sugar and insulin levels when consumed which increases inflammation. The key is keep blood sugar and insulin on point. Once again, throw these products away or donate them to the homeless.

  3. The third and final step to starting the ketogenic lifestyle is to get rid of all the vegetable oils. This one is huge! Vegetable oils are not vegetables at all. Get rid of the canola oil, corn, soybean, sunflower oils. These oils are VERY INFLAMMATORY. Yes, I did type that in all caps. The omega-6 to omega-3 fat ratios in these are not good. These oils are found in many potato chips, and other processed snacks. Throw these oils away don't even give them away. Replace all oils with extra-virgin olive oil, and organic unrefined coconut oil.

That's it! I hope this process has empowered and motivated you to lose weight, fight disease, and live a healthy lifestyle.

Have you tried the ketogenic diet? If so, how's it going for you?
