Siem Reap's original magic started with the adventure of Angkor, where I went to see the sunrise at 4.30pm. Gel Angkor ınak means the city in Khmer and ına Wat ’means the temple. Angkor Wat, one of the most important archaeological sites of Southeast Asia, is one of the most well-known among the more than 50 temples built during the Khmer Kingdom, and its place in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1992.

Angkor Wat is one of the largest temples in the world and it is considered to be one of the most important engineering projects because it was built on water. In addition, Bayon and Ta Prohm are among the most visited and intriguing temples. After I paid $ 20 for the whole of the Angkor region and $ 5 for the birth of the sun, I first visited the Sun Temple in AngkorWat and then the Bayon Temple and Ta Prohm Temple.

The Bayon Temple was actually hidden in the shade of the trees because it was in the wooded area, and in 1916 the trees were cut. Ta Prohm is a temple where giant trees, roots of these trees, vines and every shade of green live. When the French came to study the region archaeologically, they were very impressed with the mystical structure, so they cut very few trees and did not want it to be disturbed.

For tourists, Angelina Jolie played Lara Croft in Tomb Raider in 2011, reminding me of the uniqueness of nature in every single step and reaffirming my admiration for Siem Reap.
