- Ten killed and eleven injured cost an attack by enemy aircraft on Frankfurt / Main. Two of the aircraft are shot down by German associations.
- The new postage rates applicable from 1 October will be announced. A normal letter up to 20 g then costs 15 pfennigs in domestic traffic.
- Because of the ever-increasing Kohlweißlingsplage - the caterpillars eat the cabbage fields bald - sets the Reich Food Administration a catch premium of 10 pfennigs per 100 pieces.
