WTF is “public ownership”?

Public ownership is not ownership. The Earth is publicaly owned, meaning that everyone owns it, i.e. no one does. If someone goes to to dump poison in a stream, everyone else says, “Hey! That’s not your stream, we ALL own it!” So nobody can do anything with the stream unless everyone else agrees. If a guy can’t poison his own stream, how the hell can he be said to own it?

There are two choices: one owner, or no owner. Joint ownership is not possible. Joint ownership is actually non-ownership with enforcement exclusivity:

I don’t have freedom to make independent decisions about the thing, so I can’t be said to own it, but I’m limiting the number of people who I’ll accept enforcement of this non-ownership from. If Larry says, “Hey! Don’t do that!” I will listen, because he is “joint owner”, but to anyone else I’ll say, “Mind yer business!” and do as I please.

The concept of joint ownership is how we get the insanity of “nations”. You thing the other side of the continent is “your” country, so you should have some say about what happens there. If you think this, you’re wrong. So much for “closed border anarchists” and any other such faux-freedom advocates.
