Wormwood
Wormwood is a weed plant common along roads, in abandoned fields, near houses, although it is also found in vegetable gardens.
There are about 400 species of this plant in the Asteraceae family. In the central part of Russia, Siberia and the Far East, wormwood is most often found bitter and common. It is the most bitter plant among herbaceous plants.
There is a two-year wormwood, perennial, rarely annual. The leaves are silvery, the flowers are small, usually yellow, collected in inflorescences.
The plant has a specific bitter-fragrant smell.
It is used in medicine as a means of increasing appetite and improving the functioning of the stomach.
Cooks add wormwood for marinating and frying meat.
And such a species as tarragon wormwood is used to make a carbonated Tarhun drink.
