Nature Photo Challenge: Land Photography / Food Photography

This is my entry to @wondersofnature's land photography for this Monday. This was taken using Nikon D5000. I was walking along Marcos Highway (Ben Palispis) one morning when I saw this scenery. The way the sun strikes through the mist and trees makes it feel very #Baguio-City. If only there was no other sound aside from birds, no cars, no human-made noise, no machine-made noise, just nature and nature sounds alone, it would have been a perfect moment. Good thing photos don't carry sounds. You can just enjoy the photos and imagine the sounds that you like.

I wonder how long will these trees be here? As you can see, there houses and other establishments build within these land and sooner or later, there will be no more trees. The population explosion gives way to spaces needed to build houses. Real estate and is on the rise. Construction and destruction is in proliferation. Consumption is worse than ever.

Saturday will be a Non-Digital Nature Art Drawing. No need to be an expert in drawing, you can definitely draw your own paradise.

This is kare-kare of G1 Lodge's Rain Coat Cafe. Kare-kare can be beef or pork in thick and tasty peanut butter sauce. I like kare-kare with lots of vegetables in it. This one by G1 Lodge used the vegetables as decorations to make the food presentable. Food presentation is all about plating. However, it is not the only bases of a good food. It all boils down to the taste and the price. There are high-end food establishments that serve overpriced food but the taste is not at par to the those sold in other restaurants who serve better and more serving. These pricey restaurants do not cater to the masses understandably.

It is a challenge to find everything you need and want in a restaurant. Sometimes you like the ambience but not the food. You like the food but it is too pricey. Availability of food you want to eat when choosy taste bud strikes is a concern, too. Food serving proportions differ from what they tell you and what you are expecting. You might end up ordering more or less. What happens is you will end up eating in 2-3 different places to satisfy your palate and your stomach.

I rate Rain Coat as 2.5/5. I like the ambiance and their frappes. Their food can do better. It is interesting to note though that they support local produce by adding products from Benguet. There are some food like pasta and main courses that are expensive in ratio to the quantity. At a price they are, you can have more in different restaurants.
