Snow day in the desert
As you can imagine, it doesn’t snow often here in the Mohave desert. But yesterday Las Vegas had a bit of snowfall. It didn’t stick to the ground (rarely does) but it did make for some gorgeous mountain tops.
Here’s a quick photo I snapped on the road towards Red Rock Canyon. I love the contrast from the brown and dusty desert and the snowy mountain top.
Nevada actually means snow capped. Little geography trivia for you ;)

Picture doesn't do it justice. Just a quick cell phone photo. In person we were much closer to the mountain. I was with my niece so we had a good lesson on snow and why it didn't stick to the ground here at home but there's lots of it in the mountain ;)
That's a truly magnificent landscape indeed. There are not many places in the world where you can find such big contrasts in one shot. You were lucky to drive by when you were able to capture this <3
