Thank you! And let me explain something about how I "steem." If I upvote your post, you will get a PART of the author rewards - shared with the people who "authored" comments on your post. If I upvote your comments - on my post or yours, wherever, you get ALL the reward. You will find I upvote your comments more generously than your posts - it is about getting you the most reward, not about how much I "value" the content- so no getting feel goods hurt, OK? lol!

Hahah! Thank you so much, and thanks for explaining how you do things.
I'm still figuring stuff out to be honest, but after reading your comment a few times I'm pretty sure I get what you're telling me. I do like to comment (it's one thing YT started taking away from us that really pissed me off!), so that works nicely for me.
How I'm doing things, so far at least, is upvoting every post and every comment I see, which I don't disagree with or find spammy. Of course I'm learning to keep it to 10 to 15 upvotes a day, which is fine, because I'm not super busy here. Yet : )
And yes I realize my clicks are only worth a cent or so, but I like doing them anyway. It's empowering. YouTube really stole our ability to vote for comments. I remember "top comments" having 15, 40, even hundreds of likes. Even downvoting things on YouTube stopped having any effect. It's like they don't want our opinions to matter.

OK, now one more trick to show you! My vote power is run down, I have to stop voting for a bit. But I gave you a "worthless" upvote on this comment because it will still increase your rep score. I use youtube to upload because there are still some bugs with dtube, and some of the contests I enter require youtube. I eagerly await the day youtube becomes the next myspace. :) There is a "sister site" called busy.org you might check into, I have not been there. After I got my slider bar (which allows me to give 1% votes to 100%) someone told me you can get that bar immediately on busy. It DOES make it nice, to be able to stretch your vote. However, when your vote is pfft and you want to reward someone, you can transfer a couple SBD to the @tipu account, then do this: tip!

I'm so ignorant yet... I had no idea about all this... Thanks for letting me know!

Hi @drutter! You have received 0.1 SBD tip from @fishyculture!

@fishyculture wrote lately about: Hitt Mountain From The Outskirts Of Midvale, Idaho. Feel free to follow @fishyculture if you like it :)

Yes, thank you very much for that info! I didn't know about the slider bar. At what point do Steemians get access to that tool? I've noticed my upvotes (even when my voting power is over 90%) seem to have more effect some times than others. Steemit is so interesting : )

About 500 Steem Power, depending on the market value of steem. That is also why your vote power varies even when the percentage is the same. And to you and @nolasco both, you are very welcome - I an just figuring this stuff out myself!

Well! I've got a looooong way to go, then. It sounds like a useful tool. I wonder why it's kept out of the hands of members until they're well off?
It's really fun figuring it all out, actually. And the fact that we can change it to better suit us is really amazing. How websites should have been for ages!

I have never been very interested in the technical aspect of computers and the internet, but blockchain got me curious about that, even. I have not REALLY delved in, but I know a lot more than I ever thought I would! Glad you are getting the groove here. I have had several friends sign up, make a post or two and then get frustrated and bail. It is an up and down journey, but what a ride! Over Christmas the crytpo market blew up, and those of us who had been blogging away earning peanuts here and there watched our accounts blow up too. It was pretty heady! But then... we watched them roll back down too. It is like silver, get in and ride it for the long run and I think you will do very, very well. Hugs to you and Medikaty!

Aww thank you! Hugs : D
Your descriptions and anecdotes are totally useful. Around here it seems we do a lot of teaching (of each other). Lots of independent people, but most of them also tend to work well in a community. I bet sociologists are studying this, and if they aren't, they should be. Totally fascinating and unique! Steemit is inspiring.
