Lake Tahoe Boulders Shot From A Kayak (and a bit of a "how-to")
Kind of a wild looking photo from yesterday morning's photoshoot from my kayak. Shot at 5:12 am, shortly before sunrise. I like the somewhat absracty feel to this one even though it is more of a landscape shot. I also shot some video footage of my kayak photography adventure yesterday. Please look for the link below.
This one was posted using STEEMPEAK ( steempeak.com / @steempeak ), a new application for the steem blockchain. Giving it a try as it has some pretty cool features. This was shot handheld on a Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens set at 24mm. A Canon 580EX II flash was used in order to light up the foreground and the boulder under the water as I could not use a tripod on the kayak. The shutter speed was 1/200 second and the lens stabilization was used since it was shot from the kayak. It was very dark out so I used an ISO of 2000 and an aperture of f4. A healthy amount of editing was done to the RAW image in Photoshop's Camera RAW feature. The shadows were lightened up and the highlights were darkened. A decent amount of noise reductions was used as well in order to get rid of the "grainy" look a high ISO image can get.

Thank you @jesusp98! I do indeed love sunrise photos. So peaceful that time of day when nobody else is out. This was shot in the USA, at Lake Tahoe, right on the California and Nevada border. I forgot to add a steemitworldmap location link but there is one in the video post comments. Cheers!
Awesome photo @scottshots! I love this one. I know what you mean when you say its wild or abstract feeling. It looks very surreal to me. The water looks fairly clear too. Is Lake Tahoe a murky lake or is it really clear like it shows in this photo?

Thank you @thraellock! Surreal is another great description of the shot. Lake Tahoe really is that clear. It's known for its amazing clarity and amazing blue, aqua, and green colors it can get.
