Lake Tahoe Sunrise Photo Shot From A Kayak (and a bit of how-to)
Last week I went on a fun little sunrise kayak photo adventure out on Lake Tahoe. This was my favorite "keeper" shot from the morning so I thought I'd talk a bit more about it. The tiny little tree growing out of a crack in the boulder is a great subject matter in my opinion. It is at a location that is pretty much impossible to shoot from the land since accessing it would mean you would have to trespass on private property. A kayak is the perfect tool to photograph this little tree as a bigger motorboat would not fit back in this area, and you would probably destroy the prop on boulders just under the surface if you tried. I love shooting from my kayak and I talk a bit about my kayak in this @dtube video I posted last week: VIDEO
This image was photographed with a Canon 5DS R and a 16-35mm lens set at 16mm. It was a handheld shot since using a tripod on a moving kayak would pretty much be useless. I used a shutter speed of 1/200 second, nice and fast for a handheld shot. The aperture was f2.8, a very wide aperture that lets in a lot of light. I also used a Canon 580EX II flash to light up the tree as well as the boulders both above and below the water surface. This all led to needing an ISO of 400. No graduated neutral density or polarizing filters were used.
There was actually more pink color to the sky a bit more to the left. However, that composition wasn't working for me so I went with this one as my favorite shot of the morning. It's not the most vibrant sunrise I have shot but I think the little bit of color adds a nice extra element of interest.
What are your first thoughts when you see this photo and little tree?
Thank you for looking and reading!

I love this shot! I love how you've captured the reflections of the ripples on the stones. The tree reminds me of how life will always find a way.
Thank you @viking-ventures! Yes, that's pretty much what I think every time I see it too. Cheers!

Hey, that's pretty cool, thank you!
Great shot as always mate @scottshots
Nice! Thank you @macmiguelon!
Can I ask you a question mate?
Of course...
Any advice to get more likes? I´m quite new here and I think that it goes very slow, but at the same time I see some people that they get so many likes in les time than me.
@macmiguelon, just upload some beautiful pics! I started liking the pics of @scottshots, because I like lakes.
Sure. Here are some of my thoughts. It was very slow for me in the beginning too but I tried to post without any expectations as I was already posting on facebook and instagram without making any money. I will agree with @cryptospa, posting beautiful pics of the area you live does help.
Have you considered making your posts in both Spanish and English? @gabyoraa does a great job at that and it makes it a lot easier for English speakers to read. I can use google translate to read your posts but that's extra work and my time is limited this time of year.
Here's one of @gabyoraa's posts where you can see how she does her bilingual posts:

Also, have you joined any discord groups? That can be a great way to get to know more steemians. There are often post-promotion areas in the discords where you can post links to your blog. Joining curation trails can also help both get more upvotes and give them out. Dynamic Steemians is a great discord group to join and they have a nice curation trail too (although there are many others as well) Here is an invite to that discord group: https://discord.gg/dX9TR8W
Bid bots are a controversial topic but personally, if I write an awesome post that I want more people to see, I will use them to "advertise" my post and try to get it into the hot or trending section of specific tags. I don't worry about trying to get in the trending of the steemit home page as that costs a lot of money.
@joeparys has some great posts on building your steemit profile and he also offers some great in-depth courses on the subject: https://www.udemy.com/steemitcryptocurrency/?utm_content=promo&utm_campaign=2018-05-31&utm_source=email-sendgrid&utm_term=8527674&utm_medium=1494766 There is also a lot of other people that post on that subject and I often try to read those posts when I see them.
I hope that helps a bit. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers!
Thanks a lot mate, its been very helpful , I didn't expect you were going to answer that much, I appreciate , I´ll try to do my best. all the best to everyone.
Haha! Yeah, I almost did a whole post on the subject for you but changed my mind. Happy to help!
