Biosphere Reserve in Urdaibai, Bizkaia (Spain) - Reserva de la Biosfera en Urdaibai, Bizkaia (España)
In these days of travel through the Basque Country we have explored beautiful places but, without a doubt, one of the most incredible sights so far was the one we found in Urdaibai in Vizcaya.
This is an extraordinarily beautiful and varied natural area, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1984. Its heart is the Oka River that rises on Mount Oiz and goes as far as Mundaka, creating spectacular marshlands full of life.
In addition, Urdaibai has some of the most curious and appreciated beaches in the Basque Country since they vary constantly in shape and size.
En estos días de ruta por el País Vasco hemos conocido lugares preciosos pero, sin duda, una de las vistas más increíbles hasta el momento la encontramos en Urdaibai. Este es un espacio natural extraordinariamente bello y variado, por eso fue declaro Reserva de la Biosfera por la UNESCO en 1984. Su corazón es el río Oka que nace en el monte Oiz y llega hasta hasta Mundaka creando unas espectaculares marismas llenas de vida. Además, Urdaibai posee algunas de las playas más curiosas y apreciadas de Euskadi ya que varian constantemente de forma y tamaño.
