Hello Everyone out there in the Steemit Community!

We are so excited to be part of this wonderfully evolving world of Steemit and have been waiting for the opportunity to share our story for a long time...
John and Ariel are our names and we have been traveling the world together for over 11 years now. We met in Northern Thailand and decided to dedicate our lives to learning about, growing and using organic food and plants for healing and well being. We ended up working at retreat centers in Europe, California, New Zealand, Australia and finally started our own in Hawaii in 2014.

We began working on our dream of a holistic healing health retreat in the jungles of the Big Island of Hawaii. We planted hundreds of types of exotic fruit trees to begin and had 5 vegetable gardens with heirloom seeds from around the world.

Our farm was off-grid and we gathered our water from the rain and powered our lives from the energy of the sun. We had a couple cabins for our guests and volunteers.

We offered cooking classes and yoga and garden tours... People came to stay and learn with us from all around the world..

On May 3rd 2018 our dream turned into a nightmare as we were forced to evacuate our land due to a major LAVA eruption in our backyard.

We are not sure if or when we can ever return home to our farm sanctuary. After a while on an emotional roller coaster of suspense and grief we have been able to partially process this unique trauma and in doing so have realized that the only way to move forward is by rising from our own ashes and starting our lives over again. We have learned so much from all of this...mostly notably that we must always "go with the flow" and that where there is love, there is home. Luckily with the help of friends and family we have found somewhere to be temporarily as we wait to find out what is next for us on our journey.

We appreciate and invite all the support we can get during this transition.

A friend of ours mentioned Steemit and we became curious to see how we could use it as a way to share our story with our global community. Now we can share our journey into the unknown with you as we document our experience living day to day on the Big Island of Hawaii as we search for our new place.
