Valiants! Rock On!

I've been thinking. I've done already 3 champion feature that were once of the META for high elo. But what about these guys? That were, at first, META at lower elo especially here in the Philippines. So today, I want to feature this guy that was forgotten and unforgiven by his fellow Ionians. Let's get into it! 😎

Lore

This lore will break your heart. But this guy went full and tried to be strong. Try to don't cry. Lol 😂

Like all protagonists, Yasuo was teased and mocked in their place. No surprise because he's father is already dead making his mother widow. Until a man, potentially Yasuo's father, came to her mother's life. People told gossips about him that he is just a mistake that shouldn't be born.

No one was at his side other than his older step brother, Yoan. They were inseparable like they were brother best friends. Everytime his bullied, his brother was there to help. Because Yoan was like the reverse of Yasuo to the people. Respectful, cautious, conscientious. A good man to engage with.

The day came, apprenticeship came into Yasuo's reach. Yoan began his sword school for the apprenticeship. But this young Yasuo, lacking in patient, sat at the front of the gates, begging to be taught. Yes, he's lacking of patient, but full of determination.

His peers were annoyed. But Yasuo showed his best and made Elder Souma look unto him, the last master of the legendary wind technique. Teaching Yasuo was hard for Elder Souma because he sometimes ignore teachings.

Yoan felt Yasuo's arrogance. He talked his out of that giving him a maple seed, the school’s highest lesson in humility. And then, setting aside his arrogance, Yasuo took the position as Elder Souma's apprentice and as his personal bodyguard.

A Noxian invasion news broke into their school. Many were hyped to wield their sword, so as Yasuo. They were sent to the fight, including Yoan, but Yasuo was left to guard and protect the elders.

He ignored the command and went to the fight to add for the cause. But as he arrived, he saw no fight but war. Piled dead bodies were there. Both Noxian and Ionian. Every blade didn't stop, only to be tinted by blood.

Yasuo went to the school the next day, sobered. His fellow students pointed their sword against him accusing him that he killed Elder Souma.

Yasuo wasn't guilty but he needed to act quickly and fought his way free to his fellow students to find the killer. But this only cleared his fellow students mind. "He is the killer."

Finding evidence everywhere, he was followed by his peers and forced to fight to live. And as expected, as one of the warriors of Ionia, the one he dearest, was sent to find and capture him, Yoan.

They circled their swords, preparing for a fight. Their swords met, but Yoan wasn't a match for him, leading to his death unto Yasuo's blade. He begged forgiveness. But Yoan was silenced by the wind technique Elder Souma taught them.

Without anyone, Yasuo roamed the mountains, drinking his hurt off everywhere. Roaming in the snow, he met Taliyah. A young Shuriman stone mage who fled the Noxian military. They saw to each other an unlikely being as a teacher and as a student. So Yasuo taught Taliyah his ways of elemental magic, wind shaping stone, embracing Elder Souma's last teachings.

Rumors came that the world was changed by a risen Shuriman god-emperor. They parted ways to fix their problems ahead with Yasuo gifting Taliyah the maple seed Yoan gave him.

Yasuo was set out to his village to put right to everything and find his master's killer. People talking to each other, saying that Elder Souma's death was revealed accident brought by Riven. Without tears or anger of the things he suffered, we wasn't absolve of it. If he didn't go, his master would've lived and his brother didn't even need to die.

With the sense of guilt, without forgiving himself, he wandered the land with a heavy heart in his chest.

Abilities

Passive: Way of the Wanderer
Yasuo's critical strike chance is double plus he has a shield that blocks and is triggered by taking damage from champion or monster.

Q: Steel Tempest
Yasuo thrusts forward with his sword dealing physical damage.

On hit, it grants a stack of gathering storm. At 2 stacks, his next cast of Steel Tempest fires a whirlwind that knocks Airborne enemies.

Steel Tempest is counted as basic attack. So it means it may critically strike, applies on-hit effects, and is interruptible by crowd control. Cast time and cooldown are lowered by attack speed.

If Steel Tempest is casted while on Sweeping Blade, Yasuo strikes as a circle.

Note that the gathering storm here is not one of the runes.

W: Wind Wall
Yasuo creates a wall of wind that blocks all enemy projectiles for 4 seconds. Doesn't block enemy turret hit.

E: Sweeping blade
Yasuo dashes through an enemy unit dealing magic damage. Each dash increases Sweeping blades damage ranging from 25% to 50%. Cannot be recast on the same enemy unit for a moment.

R: Last Breath
Blinks to a knocked airborne enemy champion, slashing them with series of slashes, dealing physical damage and holding them for another 1 second in the air. Grants maximum Flow but resets the stacks of gathering storm.

Critical strike chance gains 50% Bonus Armor Penetration, including items and runes, for 15 seconds after cast.

This kit is awesome but hard to play. It's fun to use. Try it out! 🙂

For me, I use Q, E, W

Q powers up his wave clear at early game to late game
E combos up with Q
And W for only blocking projectiles.

Summoner Skills

This is the recommended summoner skills of League of Legends itself and me personally.

I love to use Teleport and Flash when playing him.

Yasuo can clear the minion wave fast. So for me, this is the best. This is to make plays in the other side of the map.

And also, if you want lane pressure, use Ignite and Flash.

Not only you are clearing the waves fast, but also you build up the kills pressure.

Build

For starting items, you can pick up either Doran's shield or Doran's blade.

It depends on your enemy laner. Use your own judgement on what to use better.

This is his core items. Even getting these, it is still hard to manage Yasuo. That is why he is better at early and late game. For preparation, build Phantom Dancer, Death's dance, and Berserker's Greaves.

Phantom Dancer for attack damage, critical strike chance and attack speed.
Death's dance for sustain.
And Berserker's Greaves for more attack speed.

Because of Yasuo's kit, it is better to build attack speed and critical strike chance for him. I recommend Infinity Edge, Storm Razor and Statikk Shiv.

But also you can build tank item on him too! I recommend Thornmail, Spirit Visage, and Guardian Angel.

That's the best I can think of. Let me know in the comment section below if you got better tank items.

But critical strike chance and attack speed items is better for him still. That is what I prefer you to use. And also because it is more fun that way. Lol 😂

Runes

The META rune for Yasuo is Conqueror and I believe it is the best for him. And for secondary, I use Resolve. The others are as follows.
