Review of Westwaters Bistro
Tonight we dined at the Westwaters Bistro in Caroline Springs which is attached to the Mercure Hotel which over looks the Caroline Springs Lake.
The bistro has beautifully ambient lighting which sets a wonderful mood with the main floor overlooking the lake.
The Westwaters bistro also has a childrens play centre which makes it ideal for families.
The Food
I opted for a 250gm eye fillet with crispy onion mash in red wine jus which was wonderfully cooked.
Ash opted for the Fat Yak slow cooked braised beef, mum inlaw opted for beer battered fish and chips and Tahlia a cheese burger and chips.
The beer battered fish and chips were crisp, fluffy and cooked well. The Fat Yak braised beef was tender and fell apart.
We decided to try the desserts however upon recieving the desserts menu we weren't too impressed as the selections were limited and didn't tickle our fancy.
Our verdict? Westwaters bistro is a decent family friendly venue but the menu, didn't grab us but the food was well prepared and tasted ok.
Cost to food ratio
Cost is on the higher end with the eye fillet costing $40 and I can't say it was worth the price given the options available across the west.
Westwaters is a beautiful venue with great amenities but the limited menu really lets it down.
