Doing the Word of God

In Mathew 7:24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Here Jesus makes a clear distinction between a man who hears the word and does't do it and a man who hears the word and does it. The one who hears the word and does it is going to be able to stand every test that comes in his life, because he has a solid foundation. But the one who hears the word and doesn't do it is going to fall when testings of life comes, because he doesn't have a solid foundation.
I am a chess trainer and I found out that when I only teach chess teory and don't let my children put into practice what they have learned, they will soon forget what they have been tought and when they will put into practice they will make a lot of mistakes. So I found out that teaching a little theory and letting them to put in practice a lot, is what helps them learn faster and better.
In every domain that you work, theory is not enough to learn a thing. Everything come to completion when you start apply the theory. So how about God's word? Don't you think you will learn faster if you put it in practice?
The Word of God says: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
So if you want to apply the word of God into your life, first step is to believe in Jesus and make Him your Lord. And second step is to get baptized. Then you read the bible and start living it.
