DEATH as the best advisor
Years ago when i had nothing better to do than read
all day if i wanted to, i was very much into Shamanism.
My favorite writer named Carlos Castaneda, in one of his
books talks about death as the best advisor. For some reason
this , just like many other knowledge stayed with me, and
from time to time i recall it.
He says that behind everyone's left shoulder there stands
death it self. So whenever you think you are in "trouble" or
you can not decide what is important and what isn't, you
just simply think of your death right behind you, and ask him.
He will put things in the right perspective for you instantly.
You will understand right away, that your only problem is
when he touches you.
So live with this understanding, and let it help you, as it helped me!

What you wrote reminded me of a verse by a Spanish author that I put on the cover of my notebooks when I went to college, was something like this: How many times overwhelmed by the weight of everyday life we let ourselves be overwhelmed and forget the warmth of a smile and we invest the values of living to endure.
Then try to live with the intensity of love, knowing that death is the only sure thing.

We often see death as the enemy, but it really is less of that.
