This is a scene from my trip to Rishikesh, a city in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Every evening, prayers are offered by priests to the river Ganga and the place is wild with spectators. There are different spots for prayers and I happened to coincidentally be at one of them while munching on some delicious food.
The painting was a long shot because I knew that there were many elements in the scene which contribute to the entire composition. It was difficult than the one done yesterday and I have to practice a lot to understand directions of lights, tonal values and perspective. But it's good to challenge myself everyday and learn something new. I also fortunately discovered an insanely talented watercolorist, Gary Tucker. He has fantastic videos on tonal values, graded washes and how an artist can interpret an image in an entirely different way! It has been great learning from him and hope I can apply it soon on my artworks! Cheers <3
