You are completely right. Most of people perceive their opinions as part of whom they are. It might be due to their upbringing or education system. They feel offended over things that is in no way relevant to them even a simple post on social media. They need compassion more than anything else. Compassion by seeing through their insecurities and how vulnerable they are to feel mistaken.
