How to deal with laziness

in #life3 years ago

I often get the feeling that I am not doing enough, that I can do more. When I try to do more, better, Her Majesty LAZY stands in my way. Everyone encounters it, and it's unpleasant. But we must fight it. I wanted to know how this can be done successfully.

I read several articles, forums. It turns out that laziness is not an absolute evil, it can be different. When we talk about laziness, everyone means their own. Everyone has their own laziness and their own symptoms. Here are some of them:

Low level of motivation for anything. A person is not sure why he is doing it, or he is not doing it for himself, or he expects others to do it for him. You can combat this type of laziness by increasing your motivation. Namely - thinking it over, you really need to weigh the pros and cons.

An insufficiently thought out task in detail has an extremely low level of motivation to complete it. If you are doing for someone, make sure that the person is dear to you or that there will be some benefit from him. If you rely on someone, make sure you can rely on him.

The most common concept of laziness is lack of willpower . If you thought about everything, you decided that it really is important, but still, laziness does not go away. The most important thing here is to start. Getting started is 50% successful.

If you are a programmer and you need to get a job done and it doesn't work, start writing something light, meaningless, like Hello World, helps. Or, for example, you need to write an article or a blog post, but you don't want to, there is no mood. Open a notebook and start writing, for example, about a day spent, summer ... Try it. This post is written that way.

For some people, laziness is the way they work . They receive a task, think for a long time about how to do it better and faster. Others have the impression that the person is lazy. And the worst thing is that, under the influence of others, a person begins to think that he is really lazy, he is trying to remake himself, but it only turns out worse.

And in fact, when the deadline comes, this person successfully and efficiently completes the task. 80% of the task can be completed in 20% of the time.

Sometimes we are lazy to do something, do not do it, but it turns out that we shouldn't have done it . This is intuitive laziness. She sometimes saves time. But you should not rely on her, especially when matters are important, she often deceives.

Freud spoke of laziness as getting pleasure . When you work, you get pleasure from the result of the work, and when you are lazy, then from the process.

Even laziness can act as a fear of responsibility . This, as a rule, is laid in childhood, when parents carefully guard their children from responsible matters. But do not forget, you CAN alter yourself.

Do not understand laziness as something necessarily negative. This can be a protective reaction of the body against overwork. Don't make it your favorite excuse. You cannot get tired if you do nothing.

This type of laziness is usually inherent in workaholics. One fine moment they can no longer work, they begin to think that they are lazy, they develop a sense of guilt, internal irritation ... And all you need to do is just rest.

Another popular excuse is: "Laziness is the engine of progress ." But not completely lazy, but the desire to do something with less effort, faster. Not just laziness, but constructive laziness is the engine of progress. It won't be if you're hanging off the couch.
