The ocean draws people in ....... so magnificently bewitching..

in #life6 years ago

How I love the ocean, the different colour blues, the undulating waves, the crashing of water and foam on the rocks, the rhythm of in and out. So peaceful, serene and yet so big, expansive and powerfully overwhelming at the same time. The ocean keeps drawing me like a strong magnetic force, too hard to resist. I happily flow with the energy.

At every opportunity ocean watching is chosen. Always for a different reason whether it be with friends, visitors, a walk or a bike ride we find ourselves in front of this big expanse of blue water. So when a coffee date was made with friends one morning we found ourselves standing in front of the ocean in Coolum, a very pretty beach touristy town along The Sunshine Coast. What better way to build up a thirst for a good latte?

The look-out provides a myriad of ocean scenery, each a bit different from each other. Another reason to stand and take our time breathing in the beauty.

Looking to our left we could see the stretching coast line and the resorts in Coolum. A friendly man nearby shared his sad story of 19 years ago when he and his family scattered his mother's ashes over the ocean exactly 19 years ago on that day. He seemed to have the need to talk, we listened.

The design of the look-out is well thought with the different features other than the ocean viewing to entertain visitors. Check out this art work. About six are placed along the railings.

Our attention was drawn to the sobering plaque celebrating the end of the second World War years. I did not know about a Volunteer Defence Corp living here at this time. Thank goodness the conflict did not reach our shores and hopefully we all, no matter race, religion and culture continue to live in peace and harmony enjoying the beauty of The Sunshine Coast.

Cheers

howdy tonight angiemitchell! oh what wonderful beach and ocean pictures, great job!

Morning janton, thank you of our kind words.

It's very hard for us to just look at the ocean, a lot of the time we want to be in it too XD

The artwork is cute. And I wonder if the volunteer defence corp that was stationed there at the time were able to admire the view or if they were too busy watching out for trouble :S

I agree being in the water is divine. I wonder where those people are or if they are still alive?
