Learning a 3 language -For Dimension And Balance.

To learn a new language well very often means to become a part of that culture. Yes, even to some extend encompass a change in personality to accommodate the new linguistic in dept learning. It so means to pick-up some of the good -and bad habits of that culture.

This is not necessarily a fault but it can take away some of the "international standard" -and then have some unintended consequences. In Thailand for example, many foreigners whom pick up the Thai language well change some of their personality by incorporating nuances and habits of the Thai people/culture -which can at times seem overbearing or throw things off when traveling outside Thailand.

Like the trait on being more subtle, less direct and (overly) polite...or omitting the s's at the end of words. However, if one knows a 3rd languages, its a welcome balancer as its like grasping-on to a 3rd dimension and so this "deviance" can then be tamed.   If a person is born in one country but then later absorbs say French, USA, Thai or any other major culture, it contributes something more to his/her total identity; in time it creates an added dimension compared to the former singular cultured person.

That is so, unless they learn only one new language and one new culture which they then embrace in full (i.e. never embracing a 3rd dimension so to compare and balance).

If this person never moves away from this second language culture learned in that case they becomes most of/on what they embraced. Sans plus.

Seasoned expats whom live in Thailand a long time which which don't speak the language may notice others here (which speak perfect Thai language), but in doing so amassed all the Thai ways and habits and in some cases more then the Thai's themselves! In so, loosing any internationalism and in that case multiculturalism identity is not additive -but restrictive. Again, if one knows a 3rd languages its a  welcome balancer as its like grasping-on to a 3rd dimension -and so this deviance can then be tamed and in that becomes culturally additive, not restrictive.

Happy New Year 2018,

Do you already know that awesome content will get great profits by following these simple steps, that have been worked out by experts?

How about computer language and Internet-culture? I think ever since information is able to travel from point A to B quickly enough, we've opened up a world culture in which the sum of all human knowledge becomes a better yardstick anyone can tap into compared to isolated experiences / cultures in the past.

So I guess this 3rd language is already seeping in through everyone's mobile phones. Some call it nettiquette, but it's always a work in progress. Plus, add currency to social networks and all of a sudden we've something different, but same at same time. Thought-provoking write-up @blackpanter. Welcome to Steemit by the way!

Thanks & good to be here. How very true, there is more to it all now then just spoken language...a true evolution where only time will tell how it enhances us. But it surely does!
