Howdy, what’s crackin?
Today, I'm reviewing a German beer from the brewery Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu. The beer is called Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier Naturtrüb and the style is of course a Hefeweizen. It's a very common beer so I guess quite many of you have tasted it or seen it somewhere.
The Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu brewery is owned by the Spaten-Löwenbräu-Gruppe, which is part of the Belgo-Brazilian company Anheuser-Busch InBev. In 2010, the brewery had 500 employees and had an annual production volume of approximately 2.4 million hectoliters, making it one of the largest breweries in the state Bavaria.

Appearance: hazy orange color with a creamy medium white head.
Smell: banana, yeast, wheat, clove.
Mouthfeel: medium body, medium-high carbonation.
Taste: banana, wheat, yeast, light sweetness, some clove, a hint of bubblegum.
When I buy a hefeweizen, I hope and expect banana tones in the flavor. Well, Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier Naturtrüb doesn't let you down. It tastes exactly how I want a hefeweizen to taste like: tons of banana in the flavor!
I think this beer ranks clearly above average when it comes to the style hefeweizen. I would also say that it has a good price-quality ratio. It doesn't cost much, but the quality is still high! This is definitely a beer I buy regularly. I will give it a rating 3.75 out of 5.
