The chance of the apocalypse was heightened after statements from U.S President Donald Trump regarding the use of nuclear weapons in 2018. Scientists now claim that the world's security situation is "as dangerous as it had been since World War II"

The last time the world was considered so close to destruction was in 1953 when the United States and the Soviet Union were in a nuclear arms race.
