A silent movie night - the first movie on Indian history

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Last weekend I was with my friends @sature and @yoganarchista in the Babylon theatre, it's a very cool cinema with a free silent movie session in midnight every Saturday night in Berlin.

We watched "Raja Harishchandra" , which is the first Indian movie ever. It was produced in 1913. The theatre also provided a little introduction and live organs through the movie.

It was also the first silent movie i ever watched, and i guess it was also the oldest.

It was weird not to hear any human voice for such a long time.

It was amazing to watch the same movie that people on the other side of the world watched 100 years ago.

It was cool to see how the movie filming skills 100 years ago are different from now.

It was interesting to imagine how did the actors in movie felt to be the first movie star on Indian history.

It was surprising to know that the Queen was acted by a man.

It was also funny to hear someone snoring loud in the cinema after 20 minutes of the silent movie.

Below is a link of the movie.

gracias =]

Whoa I feel like I might fall asleep too trying to watch a silent movie at midnight. That's an awesome thing for them to be doing it for free.
