Making excuses & choosing the right path!

in #life4 years ago

Since we have experience of shame and guilt, so it's usual to not put ourselves in the same position repeatedly. To balance our self-esteem we take the help of excuses. Perceiving the benefits associated with excuses is very natural.

We all want and do that at some points in our life. But when the excuses shift us from our responsibility, the problem started to arise.

You may notice, many times you also get bored and frustrated getting excuses from people. And this same thing actually happens to people with whom we make excuses. An excuse is sometimes can save us as if we late in a meeting, it's better to come up with an excuse.

But if we include this in our personality we will gradually lose trust and worthiness to people.
If our excuse-making started to considered to be a conscious attempt to manipulate the emotions of others, we should start to evaluate our actions.

Excuses can not always give us a positive outcome. If you put ourselves in that position we must prepare for absolving the guilt to fail to help someone.

It's better to find the 'fine line' between excuse and wrongdoing. If our excuse makes other's life worse to some extent, we should re-evaluate how we do things.

Moreover, excusing behavior can make us hang on the relationship. As I have said, we may not trust the person the same again. And may not depend on them.

So, it's better to focus on who we are excusing and who are excusing us. Yeah, there is always some legal and ethical reason for such behavior from both sides.

But when there's lack of this, think again. Sometimes no excuse actually saves others and even us. So it's better to understand our action and it's consequences rather than making irrational excuses.
