California MANDATES SOLAR for 2020 - WOW!!!

You hear a lot of Internet commentary about those "liberals", those "damned liberals", in California — how they’ve just ruined the place. Of course, concentrating the money in the hands of a few people had absolutely nothing to do with it. And the landlords attempting to make a quick buck off the tech industry couldn’t have played a part. And remember the fires, wow, the floods, whew, and the mudslides, oh man, could that all be the handy work of those liberals too?

Well, those "damn liberals" must be at it again — AND THIS TIME THEY MIGHT DESERVE A LITTLE CREDIT. Oh yes, this time, credit is definitely due. Yet remarkably, the credit is likely to go to the people. YES, the people. Let me explain.

California just became the first US state to mandate solar panel installations on all newly built homes. The California rule takes effect on Jan. 1, 2020. The solar mandate will apply to any new single-family home, apartment building, or condo under three stories high (no pun intended). The California Energy Commission touts the move as likely to save consumers tens of thousands of dollars.

This is a step forward my friends, either way you slice it. Admit it, or deny it, either way. Yes, its a mandate; perhaps they’ll decentralize it soon, or whatever. Please don’t miss the point. Someone had to do the right thing at some point. I can remember reading a speech by Al Gore in 1992, lecturing everyone about the need for action. And now, its only 2018. So, hey the fact that some state in the US — after almost 30 years — is actually attempting to start the process is quite exceptional, wouldn’t you have to admit?

Please remember your raincoats and umbrellas everyone, and watch out for progress, as it might lie just up ahead, yeah between the volcano and the earthquake damage, but to the left of the sinkholes.
