Planting a Pineapple
Hi Everyone!
Today we decided to plant a pineapple, it's apparently very easy and in 2-3 years from now, we'll enjoy the 'fruits' of our labour.
The first thing you should do is find a nice pineapple. Since Pineapples aren't native to the region, I purchased one that was just right. We then enjoyed the pineapple, that was the easy part. Just remember to save the crown! It doesn't taste great anyway.
To grow the pineapple, you need to prepare the stalk. Just cut away all the fruit, peel off a few of the bottom leaves and make sure it's dry. Pineapples don't like too much water and can easily rot.
After a day or so of drying, plant it. Be patient, don't over water and it should root after a month or so. Make sure it stays warm and gets plenty of light. I'll be sure to update you in the summer!
Thank You for stopping by!
What a good idea. I have never tried growing a pineapple.
Good luck if you try it Kansuze!
Thanks!
I tried to do this once and failed. I grew it in water instead. It grew a few roots then failed. Maybe I should have planted sooner. I hope you get a nice tasty pineapple in good time.
If Crypticat doesn't uproot it before it takes, I'll be very suprised. But hey pineapples are great for you so we can keep buying more until it works
