In summer time there's no snow on the mountains. I know cause I just drove through there on I-70. But I must say hiking in the mountains is just as good. Many trails, many rivers, many lakes and lots of trees.

That's great! Hope to see some awesome photos! I'm in California but I barely go hiking. Maybe I should sometime haha.
