Today we took a day out to explore some of the tracks around Pucón. First of all we went to Parque Alto Palguín.

I woke up early this morning keen to get into the mountains and see more of Pucón. It was an overcast day, but like every morning, as soon as we left our cabin in the woods we saw the familiar site of the volcano, and it brightened up our moods.

Coming to the entrance of the park

There was a small kids park near where we parked our car. It had these strange old man sculptures, I guessed they were Mapuche sculptures, but there was absolutely no one around that I could confirm this with.

As we moved deeper into the forest we came across the river so we knew we were close to the starting point of the trek.

There are three different words in Spanish for describing different types of waterfall, and a los saltos is one of them.

As we started our trek into the woods it was very well sign posted, and the trees had red dots to further direct us to the falls.

"Down to the waterfall"

After trekking through the woods for around 20 minutes in isolation we came to the first waterfall. The waterfalls, streams and rivers are so clean here, as the water is filtered through the forest.

We could drink from the water here directly, so after a quick break we topped up our water bottles and continued our journey.
