I always like to distinguish between expectations and hopes. I believe when we have too many (and too high) expectations we basically set ourselves up for disappointment. On the other hand, I always hope for a really successful outcome. But that "feels" different to me... it's more like "I HOPE we make $1000 at the Art Fair-- wouldn't that be awesome?" but once I have sent that out there — with all sincerity — I am no longer attached. And my mind feels freer and more flexible... and able to accept whatever result we do end up with.
