Anniversary, Has It Really Been NINETEEN Years?
You know you chose your partner wisely when you spend your nineteenth anniversary hashing out plans for the next nineteen years with excitement and enthusiasm! It's sadly rare these days to find a couple who met when they were young and grew together instead of apart. When people ask what our secret is we will both tell you "It's simple, be best friends!"
As best friends we fortunately have a lot of the same interests, including our favorite food being Mexican, so whenever we hear of a new Mexican restaurant in our area we of course check it out, even better when we discover it at an opportune moment like an anniversary.
I love places like this, where there is no windows to peek into
Voted best new restaurant of 2018 in a city that boasts more restaurants per capita than NYC, (Ithaca) we were really looking forward to our senses being dazzled
An excellent start with a really classy yet cozy ambiance
The chips and salsa were not complimentary as they tend to be in Mexican restaurants, but before we could mark that against them we took a bite...and understood. The most vibrant, fresh salsa I've ever enjoyed at a restaurant
Annnd, I was so focused on trying the food I forgot to take a picture before we consumed it- all but the fried plantains which were divine, the entire meal seemed to buzz with the best kind of energy

When you find the right mate, as I so fortunately did, life never ceases to be an adventure! So here's to the next two decades Howie, can't wait to see what they bring!

I like those little underground shops and restaurants too. Recently I've had to wonder if some of those sub-sidewalk stores are the result of some kind of big flood or earthquake. We have a few shops like that here on the town square, it's like when the street level rose up with mud, some places were worth digging back out. It might sound crazy, but I've become fascinated with the idea.

Me and the good lady love all the same good despite her odd almost vegan antics at times. It's a surefire way of staying close to your chosen one!
