The Dreemians enter an Alien Landscape- The Desert 'Badlands', Ancient Ruins, the Painted Desert and the Petrified Forest

in #life6 years ago

So far our journey has been so packed with activity, experience and adventure, I've barely had time to catch my breath. I will be making in depth posts about the incredible things we've seen and done when I arrive home, but for now I will get you up to speed with the highlights.

I can't say enough about this next place, which is not famous, we just happened to find about it from locals. Because it isn't very well known we had it all to ourselves, which made it pure magic, especially since it was our first real taste of the desert. I look forward to writing a full feature on the 'badlands.

In the multi-hued badlands of the Painted Desert you can find the Petrified Forest National park which offers everything from historic structures, archaeological sites and displays of 225 million-year-old fossils. The park features a portion of the painted desert and one of the largest and most colorful concentrations of petrified wood in the world.

So much of what we've seen has been like being dropped into a Sci-Fi movie- I am still processing. And we're moving right along- see you at the Grand Canyon!

Oh, I need to add that my autovoter seems to have quit working on me, terrible timing, if I can't resolve it I will be signing up for another one soon. In the meantime I'm trying to catch up on posts, so bear with me guys

Seeing these beautiful sun-lit pictures, and reading the information about them, one thought crossed my mind... This is the cure for depression... Get into the sunshine learn new things about the world, and share! Be happy.

I need a road trip.

Oh, you are so right, you can't be depressed while seeing new, beautiful vistas :)

You should go on one!

Okay, we'll just go ahead and add a travel destinations list to the @Dreemit says bujo page... Awesome!

Hahaha! I should start a 'dreemit says' series- think it would go viral? Maybe I should make a meme...

Well you know you'll have one very loyal follower and guaranteed two cent up vote XD

Looks like a really awesome trip. It looks beautiful there. You're so lucky to get to see such great beauty. I know what you mean about like a sci-fi movie. I remember traveling from TN to Wyoming and Idaho. As you head to new states the land changes so incredibly much that it's hard to believe some landscapes really exist and some rocky barren places look like alien planets. I remember in Wyoming seeing scenery I'd only seen in old western movies and it was surreal.

Got it really is. I recommend everyone does this at least once in their lifetime :)

Good to see there's a light at the end of the tunnel, at least.
My posts are going to be, delayed too. I am glad to see an update ^^

fantastic photos , wish I was there x

A steemian road trip would be fantastic :)

Definitely agree there , have a great day x

wow photography is very cool and a beautiful place, and I am very skill you @dreemit.

Not a lot of people i know use " CE " I use them in my book but stick to AD/BC for my blog, people get confused so easily!!

With that being said,I would love to visit this place at least once in my lifetime and do my research on it. Nice post btw!

Astonishing post great to experience that through your blog post amazing clicks there : )

Aw man! The hits just keep on coming! I'm a sucker for ancient ruins! At one point in my life, I wanted to be an archaeologist because of Indiana Jones. Who would've thought that the industry that I would be involved in the future was so set on forwarding thinking haha! I hope the DREEM TEAM has been having an awesome trip so far!
