The bathroom was warm and misty now.
Yet, I shivered.
Gazing deeply into the mirror,
Like a deluded model in awe of his perfection.
Only, this time I barely recognized my reflection.
The limp, red and sore penis in hand didn't look familiar.
Scratched and bruised, the ghost in the mirror looked like he had been in a tussle with a tiger.
His head hung midway between pride and disgust.
Flashes of blurred memories struck like lightening as thoughts bounced off his cranium.
He had been told that he was privileged.
That his narrative will be celebrated by peers. Dismissed by those who should know better.
Exploited by his abusers and their kind.
Now, looking in the mirror- even his body whispered its doubts.
All that melanin, Ripped abs, bursting biceps, split pectorals, and the many other muscles whose names he hadn't learnt.
At this point the bath was filled.
His options reduced.
He got in the water and became of it.
