Kids Help Line (Australia)
My daughter and her friend had a bit of a scare today. Ms 9 said it was "the most terrifying thing in her life." And it was pretty full on.
I won't go into details, but I was a witness to the events.
But I am really proud of Ms 9, who wanted to speak to the Kids Help Line in Australia, which is basically a telephone counselling service for kids.
Talking through problems is really important, and learning to talk is important too - as is understanding that you can reach out, and who you can reach out to.
It was great to hear the kids open up to the counsellor on the phone, explaining how they felt, and that they felt a bit weird after the events. I wasn't present for very long, just through the initial contact.
It was nice to hear their discussion while they were waiting through the elevator music - especially when Ms 9 said that she wanted to volunteer for Kids Help Line when she grows up.
Very proud of my little girl.

Thank you for being here for me, so I can be here for you.
Enjoy your day and stay creative!
Botty loves you. <3
Clever little girl seeking further help when she thought she needed it and damn straight you should be proud of her for wanting to volunteer when she's older, such a conscientious kid :)
Really glad things like Kids Helpline and BeyondBlue exist here too, they've both really helped out friends and their kids through tough situations with that little bit of extra support.
Yeah me too. Such important services.
Its very informative and creative news and proud to your angel sir @drwom. In Indonesia, we have a line for woman and child abuse, we have i Help Application made by USA Govermnt and Indonesian Goverment, and 3 similiar application for woman and child crisis.
Btw, its inspiring me to write a news about Help Line in Indonesia and other countries. God bless you

Great idea :)
Thanks sir, do you allow me to mention you next post ??
Yes thats very important, because the most kids dont do it or they just get the wrong information from adults about such lines. Some of them are even scared to take such a step mostly when their parents are addicted to alcohol or drugs. There should be always someone out there whom we can trust.
Absolutely!
