Puppy update - Day 11
Our dog Merlin is making himself at home. He is a wonderful, happy little dog, who enjoys expressing his exuberant puppy nature.
His training is starting, and going really well. He already understands and mostly responds to:
- No
- Sit (especially at roads)
- Out
He is also going really well with his toilet training (we are really impressed with this - for obvious reasons 🙃) and learning the fun of playing "fetch".
There are a few basic training commands that he is still having a few problems with, though:
- Stay
- Come
- Drop it
He also dislikes getting into the car. Maybe he has some bad memories of his life before he was rescued by Australia's RSPCA - a great organisation dedicated to helping and preventing cruelty to animals.
And while having a little puppy can add a little stress to a morning, he is a delightful and loving addition to our family. We are all very happy, especially Ms 9 - who is literally over the moon!

The dog will be taught what to wear. Because dog fleshy animals. So dogs are learning very well. Train your dog with your use. It's great to read your post.

Well "stay" is a pretty hard and unnatural one for a dog, they're supposed to follow the other pack members around! XD I taught mine to "wait" (as in wait for a bit at the side of the road til we're good to walk, or wait while I'm putting the bowls down and you're not allowed to eat til I say when) but for my dog didn't work "stay" too hard as I was training him as a tracking dog so it didn't seem like a necessary thing at the time.
He'll get there with the other two, though if he's anything like my dog stay will be a lot harder than the other two XD
