The perils of having a puppy part 2
Merlin (black) with Sheeba.
Last week sometime I wrote about the perils of owning a puppy - see https://steemit.com/life/@drwom/the-perils-of-having-a-puppy
The next day I was very pleased to note that the benefits far outweigh the perils - see https://steemit.com/life/@drwom/merlin-to-the-rescue
Well, today it seems we have reached the happy place where despite the perils and the angst, my daughter Ms 9 is still totally in love with our puppy Merlin. This is despite the recent 'death' of one of her toys Koal, who just received a viking burial at sea in a paper boat and the frog pond. (Update - to save the pond from too much citronella oil, the remains of Koal are receiving a funeral pyre in the style of Darth Vader's pyre in the Return of the Jedi).
Merlin has been chewing Ms 9's toys every opportunity he gets.
But the point is that the perils of owning a puppy seem to include some valuable life-lessons for little (maybe medium-sized is a better description) kids.
Merlin crashed out after playing with Monty from next door.
Ms 9 is dealing with her toys being injured very maturely, and even their absolute destruction with grace. She is still very much in love with Merlin and understands that these events are part of the perils of having a puppy.

It is hard to say goodbye to a friend. Having more than one dog helping a little (in my opinion) isn't it?
