When you are made of black

I have had countless arguments about being black. Is black a color, a mentality or just simply another word? There's a reason why so many negative affiliations are associated with the word black. We can see black sheep, blackmail and even the color black as a sign of mourning.

This is not to say that being black is a bad thing, in fact, people who are black or dark skinned (including myself) have been proven to be less prone to skin cancer. But, my talk today is not on the basis of your color in relation to your nationality, it is in reference to being black as a state of mind.

Get this right, the problem I have greatly perceived with that is simple, the average black man is always to quick and too willing to blame everyone but himself for his misgivings. It's either a deity responsible for his woes, an old friend to blame, some random people who might not even care about his existence or his immediate environment.

When slave trade came to this side, the black man was all too willing to sell his brother out for gin, mirror or just as plain ol revenge. This is not to say these things don't happen everywhere, however, the scope of this writing is limited to a particular geographical location known for its heavy indulgence in such.

More so, I speak from what is observable not what is not. Even in terms of investing, the average black man simply wants to take and take without the mindset to give back if there are no incentives. Only a few invest in things that are long term. These few often pay the price of the many who have given the community a bad name.

When one is in power, he tries to keep the rest down and is often guilty of what the leaders are accused of. The truth is being black is a blessing, with an array of cross cultural diversity, natural resources, intellectual prowess and what have you, often times, everyone wants to lead and no one wants to follow. You see where education ends in the classroom and civilization becomes an abstract outside.

At the end, we blame someone or something for nothing, so I wonder; is black a color or a mindset?

Hi @ehiboss, my answer to your question is, "Both". Black in the first place a " colour". Colour of the skin no doubt. However, it is the dark attitude of some blacks like you listed above that makes it a thing of the "mindset". A man is what his state of mind is.

When one is in power, he tries to keep the rest down

Its also a fact, the opposite. When one is in power, she/he tries to pull up in the same level those whom they share a thing and not the color but say blood or something along that line.

Poor black.
It is purely a mindset.

i am so glad you have that opinion in that matter. Thankfully i am not in America were this whole thing has become a mess but in my country too is starting to take place.

Stupid things like that just divide and only cause troubles. Literally, an an individual in the eyes of someone color has nothing to do, the whole racism thing is just stupid. Ofc there are some stereotypes that may hide some truth but this is depending on many factors.

For example if someone lives in a country were the majority is white people and in his town in certain alleys there are some black people (you can change the colors, nationally and add whatever you want) that sell drugs or in general are thugs, it's natural to be more cautious towards people of the same color or nationally but only cautious, that doesn't mean to insult or yell at someone for no reason.

** i am really glad you talked about the slavery thing too, cause basically in human history at some point every "nationality" or "race" was slave of another on**

the average black man is always to quick and too willing to blame everyone but himself for his misgivings

It's not only the average black man, it's the average stupid person!
