HOME OF THE FUTURE, APPLIANCES, ECO-SUSTAINABILITY AND INNOVATION

A home could not be the same without the presence of household appliances. It would be like a wild garden or an empty box. Obviously we are used to taking for granted the presence and we tend not to realize how much they contribute to a better comfort. Let's take an example on everyone, the refrigerator; allows us to conserve food, cool the water in the summer months and save money on spending.

Although apparently they perform the same function, not all refrigerators are the same, for example if we analyze them from the point of view of energy consumption, then the possibility of saving electricity, or be equipped with new technological features that will become the norm in our future homes.

So let's see what are the requirements to watch out for when buying.
The first thing we have to pay attention to is the energy label that indicates the degree of eco-sustainability of the appliance, that is, it indicates the capacity for consumption and savings in electricity. We are not talking about any household appliance, but rather one that is connected 24 hours a day, so to reduce energy waste is a must during the purchase phase pay maximum attention to the above energy label.

Unfortunately there are many people who are buying the only criterion the purchase price, ending in most cases to choose the most economic model, which in most cases is not the most efficient in terms of energy consumption. Here we have the illusion of savings because we pay less for our refrigerator, but given the greatest energy expenditure, soon we will end up spending more money on a higher energy bill.

Too often we pay attention only to monetary savings, a choice that often does not coincide with an eco-sustainable choice.
So, how to read the energy label, which indicates the class of energy consumption?
At the moment the top is class A +++, which indicates the best equipment from the point of view of energy saving. Obviously going down we will have consumption classes that indicate a less efficient refrigerator.
Another element to be evaluated is the capacity, a characteristic that will determine if a refrigerator consumes more energy or less energy.
Other features that are often not taken into consideration, or underestimated, are if it is a no frosted or ventilated fridge, with or without life protection in the event of a blackout or with a silent engine.
Some really interesting technological innovations, which refer to the Internet of Things, are the possibility of connecting our home appliances, not just refrigerators, to the Wi-Fi home network, to make them smarter and improve the services they can give us.
Some examples?
The hood that starts automatically, the vacuum cleaners that you drive yourself and the washing machines can be activated from home. But back to our dear refrigerators that will soon be equipped with an internal webcam, managed via an external touch screen, such as a common smartphone, which will allow us to change the temperature, or have through the appropriate app, the recipe to cook on the basis of the foods contained inside the fridge !!

The true purpose of appliance manufacturers is an interconnected revolution, therefore not independent solutions, but rather interdependent, in order to create a home automation of the future in which the various solutions are integrated and in which the appliances can interact among them, creating a real smart home, and capable of self-managing.
