Beast from the East

So last Thursday we had our first weather red warning.

There is always a silver lining to things like these the first was that we had to leave work at 10am and the other was that my colleague stupidly took his motorbike into work and had to abandon it😂

Having done a food shop the day prior we were all set for a few days of being completely snowed in.

The day before I had armed myself with 11 sleeping bags and handed these out to Cardiffs homeless to try and help them out during these times and add an extra layer that might of made the difference.

Whilst the weather in Wales is seasonal we only get to experience snow like this every decade or so which means that it catches the whole country off guard.

The beast from the East met us on Thursday and soon hooked up with storm Emma. The result was that we had some massive snow drifts.

But also arcades had there own flurries of snow. The picture above is of High Street arcade in Cardiff.

It's now Sunday and I'm sorry to report that the snow is now almost all gone. We had quite a bit of rain last night and warm temperatures today so a further day of rest is called for before hitting the hamster wheel tomorrow 😁
