Justin Sun Just Keeps on Giving "TRON" All the Media Coverage They Need
So it appears Justin Sun, CEO and founder of the TRX token, has won a bid to have lunch with billionaire magnate and devout crypto naysayer, Warren Buffett. How much will this cost the young Chinese entrepreneur? A cool $4.6 million. You can imagine how this news has got tongues wagging. Give him credit, as the guy never fails to bring home the big headlines. Now, whilst some are obviously outraged at the vast sum of money put on the table by Justin Sun, in an attempt to apparently convince Mr. Buffett that crypto currency is legit, I beg to differ. I think someone like him is just what the STEEM blockchain needs...
What are a couple of arguably the most important issues concerning STEEM and Steemit. You could say not enough eyes on us as well as the fact that we seriously need a marketing machine in place, promoting all the "good" we do. I say this because literally just yesterday, I read yet another article speculating what the future of our blockchain could be and citing a negative overall bias given that Ned Scott recently laid of 70% of his staff. Yes, they're still playing "that" old broken record!
I feel it's imperative we change this mindset. I mean, for Christ's sake, we've achieved so much more since then. The comeback we witnessed after that bombshell announcement, has been nothing short of incredible. But still, it's interesting to see how the rotten seed continued to worm it's way throughout the rest of the external crypto space. Because the bottom line is, nobody can deny how speculative the crypto markets are. It's not about how great development is or how technologically proficient your team are. It's all about the "story you sell" on the outside. Hype plays the majority of how successful you are in this space or how poorly you do.
Justin Sun has been criticized for many things, including his technical knowledge of blockchain tech and his ways dubious methods of promoting his coin. But the results speak for themselves. Tron sits at number 11 in coinmarketcap.com and you better believe, most of it can be attributed to the way he has positioned himself as a well-known pull-no-punches crypto personality. Who you are and how you portray yourself and the product, go further than anything else. What does it matter if you create the best applications yet no one seems to care. Betamax video, anyone? I believe STEEM has more use-cases than most other crypto blockchains out there yet we've lost so much value in the space over time. Our marketing machine, in addition to the messages that get sent out there about us, has much to do with it.
But hey, I'm only shooting the breeze here. Who really knows what's going on? But one thing is for sure and that is TRON has done something right and continues to do so. Lunch with Warren? May not amount to much and it sure gives the TRON brand name more welcomed exposure. And you don't need "hardforks" for that now, do you?
I dont have much love for Tron but you gota admit the man is a genius at marketing. He also has a very firm grip of the psychology in the crypto community.
