"Prodigy" Frontman Keith Flint Dies at 49
As some of you may know, I'm a huge "Prodigy" fanboy, getting into their music way back in 1992 when the band's debut album "Experience" was released. Ever since, I feel they've surged from strength to strength and gone on to become a globally recognized dance group sensation. So, it was with absolute shock and horror when I just read that frontman Keith Flint has passed away today. The words "numb" and "devastated" come to mind.
No details of what actually happened have been made public however the police had stated that there appears to be nothing suspicious. What terrible and tragic news. We all know Keith was quite a flamboyant character, leading what some would say a "fast lifestyle" away from the cameras. Maybe these things have a way of catching up with you in the end as he was only 49 years old. Way to young for this to happen. But I'm, of course, just speculating. I'm sure we'll know more as time goes on.
But you know that feeling. That emptiness in your belly symbolizing something being ripped away from your inner core due to some unbeknownst devastating effect. Well, death has the power to emote such feelings, especially when it is something as significant as this. I mean, these guys wrote most of the soundtrack to my life growing up as a teenager and then continuing well into being a young adult. To know that a person that has proved to be such an influential and profound part of your life, is now gone. Well, it's as shit as you can get really.
So, all I've gotta say is, "Rest in peace, man! Many a voice will echo those exact same sentiments around the world and you will be missed with a passion. Irreplaceable and musically gifted beyond reason. Oh yes, the pain is real..."
(UPDATE: Apparently, it was a suicide.) :(
saw them live in the early 90's in a club called 'shellys' in stoke on trent. too young, far too young.. . ;(
Oh mate, would have loved to have been there. Such a talented bunch, the lot of 'em. Such a bolt out the blue, this news.
This is a shame curious as to what happened.

No idea yet, mate. But it just goes to show the turmoil some of these stars go through later in life.
I never had the chance to appreciate this band. I miss out sometimes.
