Chinese scientists have successfully cloned monkeys
Chinese scientists have announced that for the first time after 300 attempts, they have managed to clone monkeys.Two monkeys were the first two clones made with the same technique that was used to clone sheep Doly.
The technique will allow researchers to create laboratories full of genetically identical monkeys, which would have been widely used in scientific and medical research.
They will be useful not only for medical purposes, for genetic diseases, but for cancers, autoimmune diseases or metabolic disorders.
Cloned monkeys were born eight to six weeks ago in one lab in China.
