Maybe some of you have heard about a book called “The Four Agreements” written by Miguel Ruiz. If you haven’t, no worries! Today I will resume you what this book is talking about and how to use the content of this one for your benefit.

Tal vez algunos de ustedes hayan escuchado del libro llamado “Los Cuatro Acuerdos”, escrito por Miguel Ruiz. Si no lo han escuchado, ¡no se preocupen! Hoy les resumiré lo que este libro habla y cómo usar el contenido de este para su beneficio.

This book has as main feature the description of how to live a good life through four simple basic rules that can be sometimes hard to follow, but once you adapt them to your life, they will make you see life differently.

Este libro tiene como característica principal la descripción de cómo vivir una buena vida a través de 4 reglas básicas y simples que a veces pueden ser duras de seguir, pero una vez las adaptas a tu vida, te harán ver esa de forma diferente.

Ok, veamos de qué estoy hablando. Aquí están “los cuatro acuerdos”.

1. Be Impeccable with your Word

Be coherent with what you’re saying or thinking of. Being authentic makes you a respectable person to others. Like the author says, “through words you express your creative power, you reveal it everything”. Words are power and strength.

1. Sé impecable con tus palabras

Sé coherente con lo que dices y lo que piensas. Ser auténtico te hace respetable ante los demás y ante ti mismo. En palabras del autor: Mediante las palabras expresas tu poder creativo, lo revelas todo. La palabra tiene poder y fuerza.

2. Don’t Take Anything Personally

As in someone wants to hurt you, that someone hurts himself and the problem is his, not yours. No matter what other people say about you trying to offend you; if you’re told something, that’s the envy talking through them, the mirror of something they hate from themselves.

2. No te tomes nada personalmente

En la medida que alguien te quiere lastimar, ese alguien se lastima a sí mismo y el problema es de él y no tuyo. No importa lo que otros digan de ti tratando de ofenderte; si te dicen algo, esa es la envidia hablando por ellos, el espejo de algo que odian de sí mismos.

3. Don’t Make Assumptions

Don’t assume anything; if you have any doubts, clarify them. Supposition makes you invent incredible stories that only poison your soul and have no argument.

No des nada por supuesto; si tienes dudas, acláralas. Suponer te hace inventar historias increíbles que sólo envenenan tu alma y no tienen fundamento.

4. Always Do Your Best

If you always do the best you can, you’ll never reproach yourself about what you do, neither you’ll regret anything.

4. Haz siempre lo máximo que puedas

Si siempre haces lo mejor que puedas nunca te recriminarás, ni te arrepentirás de nada.
