It’s a known fact that life has no manual, else many of us wouldn’t be making silly mistakes and having to learn by trial. It’s a very mean and nasty blow we’ve been dealt but we can’t just sit back and do nothing.

So basically, life is just like a plain sheet of paper and you’re supposed to figure out what it is, what to do with it, and how to go about doing it. Figuring out what life is, which is the first step, seems to be the easiest of them all probably because there’s really no universally accepted scientific definition of life.

What exactly is life? One benchmark that’s been agreed upon is that life starts when there’s a capacity for consciousness. This is somewhat scientific but still relates to the philosophical side of life. Other aspects such as existence, social ties, and happiness also contribute to the definition of what life really is.

So when you define what life is to you, will it be based on a reason for your existence, social ties, or your happiness? Have you even attained the consciousness required to truly know that things exist outside the bubble you might have found yourself?
