Learning I am not 20 years younger today
by snowboarding in my yard
With the foot of snow in the yard I built a nice little jump at the bottom of my nicely packed drop in line. The line starts at the top of the hill next to the house and runs down towards the creek. A small elevation drop of about 15 feet gives just enough speed to allow for a small amount of air. I have not been on a snowboard in well over 15 years so to be able to jump back onto one and then feel comfortable enough to huck myself off a home built jump feels pretty good. What DOESN'T feel good is my neck, my back, my shoulders, and the rest of the muscles in my body. It appears I am not 21 anymore and my muscles are giant babies.
Seriously getting older is a motherfucker.
At least I am still willing and able to try and give it a run. I just need to physically be able to handle the abuse I want to give myself.
"H1. I'm Jon and I am a masochist."
Now I go to roll out these bitchin muscles and joints.

Yes getting older is a game-changer. I get very angry that my body will no longer cooperate with what my brain wants to do. Four hours with my younger sister's grandchildren and I am wiped out the next day. Hang in there, it only gets worse (then again that is just my experience).
