#ULOG - Daily Thoughts - 07 Jun 18 - Homesteading Today...

Good Morning, Steemians!

We’re starting our day with some lovely sunshine, but its not supposed to last, bummer. :D

Nothing gets your heart pumping quite like hearing, “the cows are out” being yelled from living room, am I right? :D That was what I woke up to this morning, oh joy. :D A moose went across our yard during the night and broke the wires, so naturally the herd decided to go on a nice walk. :D I had to lure Belle back on the right side of the wire with oats in a bucket, naughty girl. :D

The only two that didn’t leave the fenced in area were Candy and Princess, they got some extra oats from my husband for that. :D

Our handsome boys Joker (1) and Buddy (2) just needed us to lower the wire and they walked right back over to the proper side of the wire fence. :D I’m so glad my husband noticed they were out before he left because I doubt they’d have been as easy to get back inside the fence wires if he’d been gone. :D

Leroy was the hardest one to get back where he belonged. He wanted to join his mom and uncles, but was afraid of the wire even after we put it on the ground, silly boy. :D Thankfully we managed to get everyone back inside and my husband repaired the fencing the moose broke. :D

Pinky wanted to go for an adventure like most of our herd, thanks to my husband he couldn’t find a way out though. :D

Candy (1), Princess (2), Buddy (3), and Joker (4) hanging in front of the barn for a mid-morning nap. :D

After one round of musical cattle, we’ve now got Leroy (1), Candy (2), Buddy (3), Belle (4), and Joker (5) settling in for a nap in front of the barn. Belle and Leroy came over as Princess was heading away for a drink. :D

The chickens came out for some afternoon scratching. :D

They’ve been playing another rousing round of musical cattle and we now have Princess (3) rejoining the rest of the herd, but Candy (1), Leroy (2), Joker (4), Belle (5), and Buddy (6) are in different spots. :D The herd seems to be taking a lot of naps today. I guess traveling outside the fence and getting back in was a lot more draining on them then expected, LOL. :D

There are 8 of our 10 chicks doing well, but two don’t seem to be healthy. We’re going to have to keep a close watch on them.
